I had a bad viewing of this the first time round, all i remembered was some pissing around in a tall building. I think i was tired or not in the mood. So revisiting it on Netflix. It was not as good as 3 but better than 2 and actually very enjoyable.
A blind purchase, all I knew about the film is it was directed by Wes Anderson and it starred Bruce Willis. I was expecting a weird ride as I’m a big fan of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
I think it will get better with repeat viewings has a distinct lack of special features compared to other Wes Anderson films but it looks great on Blu-ray.
Never knew this but all 4 films are now out on Blu-ray, this has an identical transfer which upscaled waxy details. It’s way better than any DVD and it’s a naughty pleasure. This was a true fun for the fans sequel that is only missing Kevin Bacon.
The quality of restoring a 60 year old film is stunning. So much detail with only a handful of shot out of focus but that was only down to the shot itself. This and North by North West are incredible Blu-rays, the only way to watch this film.
Seen in the Cinema and really enjoyed it but some ten years on it’s one of the few films that’s lost a bit of its charm. I just noticed more plot holes and mistakes. Someone actually checks for a pulse wearing gloves! Also i was a bit let down by the Blu-ray transfer.
Another great looking Blu-ray although you can see Bruce’s wig sometimes. This is also the first time i have seen it uncut with all the swearing and blood. It was heavily edited until this release so it’s actually a bit better because of it
I enjoy this almost as much as the original. A bit dated as old women can’t take tazers in their hand luggage now.
A masterpiece in action movies, it just has it all. It’s also a perfect Christmas movie.
Amazing western and has probably one of the best Blu-ray transfers that I have. I would say it’s on par with Unforgiven.
Hard to fault this film it depends on my mood if this is the best film or temple of doom. This is how we say goodbye in Germany Dr. Jones.
